【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesanindexvaluetotherelativeparticleshapeandtexturecharacteristicsofaggregates.Thisvalueisaquantitativemeasureoftheaggregateshapeandtexturecharacteristicsthatmayaffecttheperformanceofroadandpavingmixtures.Thistestmethodhasbeensuccessfullyusedtoindicatetheeffectsofthesecharacteristicsonthecompactionandstrengthcharacteristicsofsoil-aggregateandasphaltconcretemixtures.3,4,5,61.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheparticleindexofaggregateasanoverallmeasureofparticleshapeandtexturecharacteristics.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitsgiveninparenthesesmaybeapproximate,exceptwithregardtosievesizeandsizeofaggregate,thestandardSIdesignationsshowninparenthesesarethestandardasstatedinSpecificationE11.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
