【摘要】:Theproceduresoutlinedherearegroundedinthegenerallyacceptedbodyofknowledgeandexperienceinthefieldofforensicdocumentexamination.Byfollowingtheseprocedures,aforensicdocumentexaminercanreliablyreachanopinionconcerningwhetheradocumenthasbeenaltered.1.1ThisGuideprovidesproceduresforexaminationsthatshouldbeusedbyforensicdocumentexaminers(E444)forexaminationsinvolvingaltereddocuments.1.2Theseproceduresareapplicablewhethertheexamination(s)areofquestionedandknownitems,exclusivelyquestioneditems,orasingleitem.1.3Theseproceduresincludeevaluationofthesufficiencyofthematerialavailableforexamination.1.4Theparticularmethodsemployedinagivencasewilldependuponthenatureofthematerialavailableforexamination.1.5ThisGuidemaynotcoverallaspectsofunusualoruncommonexaminations.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.
